Over the past week, I've been intrigued at what the future generation
might ride. So I set out to see what the big names have brewing and oh boy! Did
I bite more than I could chew?
Let’s
begin with Honda whose latest concept is part motorcycle, part spaceship (lol).
I browsed through its frankfurt debut and noticed that, rather than a
traditional instrument cluster, the concept uses a pico projector. This blocky
bike feels like a vision of the future as imagined by a video game designer
from the mid-90s.
The carbon fiber, aluminum and titanium frame gives the 2015 Honda CB750 enough strength to carry heavy riders. It’s powered by a four cylinder liquid hydrogen engine and features on board computers controlled by an OLED touch screen. It also features radar technology that will slow the bike automatically if it detects an oncoming collision… a feature which you can of course disable if you like to live dangerously.

The BMW
Roadster Concept is built around the latest air- and liquid-cooled boxer twin,
an 1,170cc engine officially rated 125 horsepower and 92.2 pound-feet of
torque. The bike is very compact and looks like it should be light. The BMW
Roadster Concept also looks rather extreme, and would likely have trouble
getting homologated for road use, especially in bureaucracy-choked Europe. On
the other hand, the Roadster Concept may be the seed from which a new
generation of great BMW R series models germinate.
Dodge
tomahawk motorcycle concept car. The dodge tomahawk concept motorcycle. The
tomahawk is a viper v-10 based motorcycle, a 500 horsepower engine with four
wheels beneath it and an engine that breathes.
Three
cylinders + three wheels = Yamaha mwt-9 concept, Yamaha revealed its latest
take on a leaning multi-wheeled vehicle with the new mwt-9 concept powered by
the fz-09's three-cylinder engine. As Yamaha wrote in it's brief press
statement: "This Leaning Multi-Wheel
(LMW) concept model proposes a new type of category in the realm of sport
riding. Under a development concept of a “Cornering Master,” the MWT-9 mounts a
3-cylinder 850 cm3 engine on a seamless and dynamically styled body".
The Ducati Spite concept is one awesome bike that comes in three colors of red, white and black. The Ducati Spite is said to have "two souls," and "one of the souls is extreme simplicity and the other, a full detailed concept."
The Ducati Spite will be available for city and for sport, and Ducati states that "this bike shall get both the extremeness of a one-sit bike, and the comfort of a city maxi scooter." With sleek curves and a simplistic colorway, the Ducati Spite concept bike is definitely one to watch out for.
