Ok so on Sunday Shola, Bayo and I decided: you know what? Let's chew up some tar (this is what happens when the rains have caged you for too long). Normally, we would have done some out of towner with an organized Itinerary and proper planning but not this time. A spur of the moment call was made, to all parties and we all geared up... La campagne Tropicana here we come.
Note: This was late in the day (cos its a Sunday, we're all family men. Church and all), for such a ride and the next day was a Monday but..... What the heck. Or as my Naija brethren would say "Who Monday 'epp?".

That said... Stands up, Visors down. Oh smooth ride. I must say riding with these two was fun. On the eleko beach road tho I(my stones) had a tank slapper. Thankfully, the rubber side stayed down. One hour and 47 minutes later, we were at the infamous La campagne resort. A bit of haggling with and harrassing the receptionist <-- Wonder why bikers are always such an interesting bunch. And we were in. By now it was a little after 5pm, the journey home was a long one and we had 2 more stops.
Off we were to Lekki beach resort and the awolowo museum. This was a short one (only abt 10km's dash) but on getting there, we found out someone had developed a flat... Hehehe #BikeLife All hands on deck and we started sorting this out as a small crowd gathered to see what could've slowed down these men of speed and steel. We seized the opportunity to re-hydrate and stretch our legs(and blame Mrs Shola for our tyre issue. Lol).
Tyre fixed and its off to the next stop The Lekki free trade zone... We do quite a bit of hanging out, become friends with all guards on duty (especially the weapon wielding one) and kicked off. Back to base. Flat tried to mess with us again, but we showed it who's boss. Home at a lil after 8pm and called in to let everyone know we good. All in all it was an awesome ride... Time well spent with bike and brethren.

ReplyDeleteYour piece was just as short as the ride. And of course, as entertaining.
Looking forward to more riding (along) and stories. Keep it up.
